The
renters of this home have experienced occurrences such as
movement out of the corner of an eye, tall human shaped shadows
that disappear seconds after being spotted, the children’s
door, which would need more than normal wind flow to shut,
would close without anyone’s assistance, the children
were often woke up in the middle of the night and run into
parent's bedroom in fear, and tapping sounds were often heard
in the walls. Due to the strange occurrences, the family of
five has since moved. The parents have both experienced the
sightings of the shadows and the noises but the children will
not talk about them. When informed of the move, one of the
children asked, "Will the man be coming with us?"
Investigation notes (10/06/02)
The
initial walk through of the house provided a couple reasons
to return with a full crew. Both Tracy and Chris could feel
a presence upon entering the house. The strongest of these
was in the children’s bedroom. Some preliminary compass
measurements in the hallway yielded two points that caused
the compass to change from a heading of due north to a heading
of almost due east. The first location was in front of the
bathroom and the second location was in front of the master
bedroom. The renters later pointed these spots out to be locations
where they have experienced visual occurrences and have heard
tapping noises in the walls.
The
second reason for a full crew investigation was the feelings
that Chris was receiving about the spirit in the household.  (Click on the icon for Chris's description

Investigation notes (10/11/02)
A
standard investigation was conducted with many occurrences.
Matt and Eric conducted an interview of the occupants, while
Tracy and Chris did a walk through of the house without any
equipment and then set up the cameras and audio recorders.
After the interview, Matt and Eric inspected the outside of
the house while Tracy and Chris took pictures of the inside.
We first focused on trying to find the source of the strange
thumping and tapping noises reported by the renters. While
inspecting the outside, Eric and Matt noticed a vent attic
level on the house. While inspecting the children's bedroom,
we found a crawl space leading to the attic area. Matt inspected
the attic and found a vent pipe that could easily be moved
and would make a tapping or thumping noise when moved. This
may explain the noises that were reported by the parents during
the interview.
An
EVP walk through was conducted by Tracy and Chris. Preliminary
audio filtering has produced a possible response. Later, all
of Tracy's electronic equipment lost power. A later test of
the batteries showed that they still had a charge. At one
point in the investigation, the temperature in front of the
children's bedroom dropped 3 degrees and the temperature raised
3 degrees in the children’s bedroom, all in a matter
of seconds. Around the same time, Tracy felt the presence
of the spirit.
At
the end of the investigation, we tried to recreate the environment
as it was during the reported incidents by turning out all
the lights except for the light on the cooking stove. We sat
quietly in two groups, Eric and Chris in the children's bedroom
and Tracy and Matt in the hallway. While Chris and Eric did
not experience anything, Tracy and Matt had a couple of odd
instances. One instance was when Tracy kept seeing movement
described as a "white misty outline”, behind Matt
in the master bedroom. Matt reported seeing movement in the
kitchen area, which is where the renters had seen a shadowy
figure. The origination of the movement seen by Matt could
not be explained.
Post-investigation notes & research (ongoing)
* The renters have informed us that other homeowners in the
area (past and present) have reported similar experiences
with some reporting a more hostile spirit.
* Batteries in Tracy's electronic equipment
have been tested and they still hold a charge.
* Preliminary audio filtering has produced
a possible response to Tracy's question. More filtering is
being done and the results will be posted soon.
* The renters have informed us that their
neighbors contacted the homeowner and reported that someone
was banging on their walls in the middle of the night. There
is currently no explanation for this since no one was in the
apartment at that time.
* Review of the camera footage has showed
us that the above mentioned EVP is actually a GOI member talking. |
