Story #1
A family lived in a house, which was located on 45th RD
just at the top of a hill. By driving over the hill at a
fast speed, you wouldn't have a chance to stop if something
was in the road on the other side. One day around dusk the
two kids that lived in the house were playing in the yard.
The kids decided to cross the road and were hit by an oncoming
car unable to see them. The family mourned the death of
the two children but the mother never recovered from the
tragic incident and about a year later killed herself. The
father could not bare the burden of losing his two children
and his wife and hung himself in the garage some time later.
Story #2 (Also referred to as "the lot"
Many people walking by have reported the sound of running
water and also trees being lit up from an unknown light
source (NOTE**there is no longer running water or electricity
at this vacant lot). People say that his lit is haunted
by a family that was murdered by the father/husband and
that he can sometimes be seen roaming around.
Notes
Growing
up in Idaho Falls, I heard stories about this haunted house.
One day some friends and I visited the house because it
was supposed to be haunted and we were always curious about
ghosts mainly because we lived near the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Legend has it that if you go over the hill at dusk on a
certain night you can see the kids just before you hit them.
I have never heard of anyone seeing the kids just the "if
you did this" part. We did it and to no surprise nothing
happened. We then continued into the house. Inside the house
I had a weird sense that some one was following us and when
I looked into the garage I felt a very cold breeze blow
by me and the vision of a man on a work bench. I thought
nothing of it then and passed it off as my imagination but
now that I have found out that I have some clairvoyant ability,
I believe I saw the spirit of the father just before he
hung himself. I believe the feeling of someone or something
following us was the wife wondering why we were there. Now
that I am part of the GOI (Ghosts of Idaho) Investigators,
we plan to go back with the appropriate tools and equipment
and see what we can find out about this haunted house.
Notes (2/22/2002)
Tracy
and I went by the house just to see if we could sense any
paranormal activity. Tracy and I didn't feel anything. We
feel that it is either a reenactment that only appears on
the anniversary when the events actually happened or the
ghosts were not there at the time. It always could be just
a story.
Update: submitted by Jamie in Idaho Falls (7/31/2002)
My
friends and I have been investigating this house for about
a year now. Nothing professional; just going on intuition
and feelings. We were walking from the kitchen on one of
the first days we visited, and a door to the bedroom opened
on its own for us. There was absolutely no wind that day.
It was in early Sept. Another time it was like the family
was saying "Go on, get your look then LEAVE."
Many teenagers in the area constantly bother the house because
of the "if you do this" thing you mentioned. My
friends and I get the feeling that the family is just sick
of everyone intruding on them. They've been pretty much
nice with us but if we venture into the garage or go to
it from the back, they get a little ticked and let us know
we need to leave right then. Lately, we'll drive but that's
it. Something is going on in the house now that is just
mean and angry. When we do drive by, you can see the woman
standing in the doorway or in a window. The family was Chinese
I believe and you can see her facial features to resemble
her ethnicity.
