Researched by Ghosts of Idaho
Legend has it that a Shoshone Indian princess named Edahow
was buried in the Shoshone Ice Caves and if the cave melted
she would rise and walk the caves again for eternal life.
Over development and a poorly placed access tunnel melted
the entire cave in the early 1940s. The Robinson Family
acquired the land in the 1950s. Russell Robinson studied
the caverns, charted the airflow through the passages, and
restored the caves back to an icy state in 1962. When in
the caves, you may see or see the young Indian princess
wandering around the cave. |
